Mabel Luella Holman was born to parents August and Martha (Gutknecht) Pansch, rural Odessa on June 17, 1928. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
Mabel worked at Kollitz grocery store in Odessa, Kresge Variety Store, Snyder Drug Store in Minneapolis and White Variety Store in Willmar. She held a Funeral Director’s license for fifty years and she and her husband Amer, owned and operated a funeral home in Appleton for fourteen years.
Mabel was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton since 1954. She was active in Ladies Guild, choir, taught release time and Vacation Bible School, served on the Altar Guild and banner committees and belonged to a Bible study group.
She was also active in the American Legion Auxiliary serving as President, Poppy Chairman for many years and was Chaplin for the 7th District Legion Auxiliary.
Mabel enjoyed decorating with outside lights for all seasons of the year. She and Amer also enjoyed weekends at their cabin at West Battle lake for fifty years.
Besides Amer’s traveling job, they took many family trips, covering all but several states in the USA, parts of Canada and Mexico. Carpet companies gave them numerous trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Bahamas, Spain and Morocco.
Mabel was preceded in death by her husband Amer in 2012.
Survivors include daughters: Darcy (Duane) Kleven, Kristi (Randy) Bruer, Son: Jason (Ann) Holman. Grandchildren: Nicholas Kleven, Marisa (Nate) Ludvigson, Zachary (Jenni) Bruer, McKenzie Johnson and Lexi (Braydin) Kvistero. Great Grandchildren: Marley and Logan Ludvigson, Harlow, Luella and Tate Bruer and Isabelle Johnson, nieces and nephews.
