NOAH's ARK AND THE CREATION MUSEUM TRIP

If you'd like to go to see Noah's Ark and the Creation Museum (both in Kentucky), St. Mark's (Benson, MN) is hosting a trip to each spot.  We'll be leaving on Wednesday, Dec. 27th at 8am.  We will return on Jan. 1st (sometime in the late afternoon / evening).  The bus we're taking is a 44-passenger luxury bus (i.e. with a bathroom and place for storing luggage). The cost is (approximately) $850 per person, which includes the bus, driver, hotel rooms and entrance into each park.  Breakfast will also be included; however lunch / dinner are not.  This assumes that a hotel room will be shared by 2 people.  If you are traveling as a family (for example, we have 5 people going), the cost per-person will be lower (the hotel room will be divided by 5 people, instead of 2).  Also, if we have more than 30 people willing to go, the overall cost will also be less.  If you have any questions about the trip, please contact Pastor Wolter: jwolter78@hotmail.com or 402-335-7518.  The deadline to contact Pastor Wolter (to let him know you're going) is Friday, Dec. 1st.  At that time, if we have at least 30 people signed up to go, you will need to make out a check (the final amount to be determined after Dec. 1st) to St. Mark's.  Please pass the word to whomever you think would like to join us!

FESTIVAL OF NATIVITIES

Planning Ahead:

The Festival of Nativities is coming back to Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 9:00-11:00 AM.  The community will be invited to come and view the variety of nativities that will be displayed throughout our church.

Do you have Christmas Nativities to share?  Would you be willing to bring your nativities to our church on Friday evening, December 1, between 4:30 and 7:00 PM to set yours up?  Nativities will be set up throughout the church.  We will have coverings on some tables; however, we ask that if you can bring a cloth or other special touch to put with your display or a table to put your display on, that would be wonderful.

All types of nativities are welcome both large and small, old, and new.  We would also like to have on display anything you may have that has a nativity on it such as ornaments (if you have an ornament hanger that would be perfect to display it on), snow globes, blankets, wall hangings, etc. If you have a wall hanging, please bring an easel to display it on (or contact us so we know how many easels to bring).

When you stop and think about it, there are so many styles of nativities some very decorative, some very simple, some old, some new, some handmade, some purchased, some especially created for children, etc.  We would love to see them all.  We will ask that you take your nativity down at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 2, following the Festival of Nativities.  The community will be invited to this special event here at Trinity.

Contact Karen & Wes Anderson if you have any questions, 320-297-0122, 320-297-0121 or wdtoursappleton@gmail.com.
